Conference: Unity 99, a joint conference of the African American, Hispanic, Asian and Native journalists associations takes place in Seattle. I'll be working the student online project, which will bring together college students and professional staff who will cover the conference and produce a daily news web site. New! See the results of our efforts at Unity 99 Online!

From Seattle to San Francisco for a week.

Working on two articles for "Click" the Boston's Globe's consumer tech section. This issue's theme: mobile technology.

The 12th annual High School Journalism Work for Minority Students will kick off, this year at Boston College. (Yes, the newsroom moves from UMass Boston to BC.) I'll be returning as co-chair of the program, coordinating content and production, lecturing on print and new media topics and trying my best to be a good mentor to 20 high school students from across New England

Conference: Region I of the National Association of Black Journalists meets in Hartford, Conn.

My  25th (gasp!) High School Reunion takes place in Baltimore. I'll be there, trying not to look too old and tired.
